who are we?

She Went Wild started out of frustration of seeing the lack of women being represented within the outdoor industry. As a woman who loved the outdoors and moved to a new country, I found it hard to meet like minded women who loved the same things as me, and so the idea was born.

She Went Wild, is a hub for all things adventure. Through content and events we aim to inspire and empower women to get into the outdoors and live an adventurous life.

Whether you're off on a year long expedition, or want to make the most of your weekends, through articles, events and workshops we aim to inspire you to make the most out of your time outdoors.

In 2017 you'll see more community building, exciting events and the return of the Women's Adventure Expo at the end of the year.

Born and bred in Wales, UK, I've been living in beautiful Australia for the last 5 years. I was thrust into the outdoors at a young age; by 12 years old I'd learnt to water ski and worked with my dad day and night to convert a van to a camper and take a family trip to France.

What I love to do: Rain and hail doesn't bother me (I am Welsh after all), as long as I'm outside. I love to dive, kayak, camp and cook outdoors as much as I can.

Favourite Adventure: I think the most exhilarating has to be learning to paraglide on the Central Coast of NSW. Something I never thought I would do, even when I was flying with the birds at 1200ft in the air! I've learnt (and continue to learn) to never let fear stop you from experiencing great things; you'll always regret it!

Lucy Entwistle

A keen hiker and aspiring author of children’s walking books, I gave up an office job in 2015 to live more adventurously.

What I love: Exploring. Piling on ALL of my clothes to brave the cold in the Arctic Circle, in search of the elusive northern lights, or stumbling upon a bluebell wood on a quiet afternoon bike ride from home. Be it exotic and intrepid, or gentle and low-key, I just love getting out there and finding beautiful things.

Favourite adventure: A four -day hike along the Laugavegur Trail in Iceland, across misty glaciers, toe-numbing rivers and somewhat-daunting volcano warning zones. The perfect way to experience Iceland's beautiful, unique and impressively wild landscape.

Nomadic digital marketing professional with a love for muddy boots, log fires and fresh mountainous air.

What I love to do : Take me outside and I'll love it ; running, climbing, riding, swimming, the list goes on! Having a 9-5 desk job has made me appreciate free time to get out into wild and open spaces all the more!

Favourite Adventure: It's too tough to choose 🙈  Most recently, I completed a 4 day hike around Tongariro Northern Circuit, one of the Great Walks of New Zealand. I loved every minute of it; the breath taking scenery, the sore legs, the endless views and unmatched satisfaction of camping food... oh take me back!

ZOE Iliffe

A Marketing graduate based in Wales,

I've recently returned from a year long trip where I traveled Asia, New Zealand and the East Coast of Australia in an old pop-up campervan where I gained my love for travel & the great outdoors!

What I love to do: I love hiking and camping (a year in a van didn't put me off too much!), exploring new places and experiencing new adventures.

Favourite Adventure:  I loved the whole year of travelling and New Zealand was definitely a highlight for me! Hiking the Sealy Tarns track overlooking Mount Cook in the South Island ; the hike was tough but the view,  glorious and unforgettable.
