This weekend, Snowdonia National Park will be the perfect playground for a weekend of hiking and wild camping with likeminded women. You'll leave invigorated, having explored some more remote areas that you might not necessarily venture to alone. You'll have made some new friends. AND you'll have learnt some new skills to equip you for future hill walking and wild camping adventures!
Come climb on real rock and abseil with views over the River Wye and Symonds Yat! Throughout the day, you will learn the important rock climbing basic skills such as belaying, tying into the rope, climbing technique and safe descent.
This weekend as the perfect way to spend time with similar adventures and like minded people, “leave it all behind" for the weekend and explore the more remote and rugged parts of the welsh mountains that you normally wouldn’t explore on your own.
The Brecon Beacons provide stunning views of the surrounding villages from high up on the prominent ridges and rolling hills. If you're interested in blowing a few cobwebs away after a stressful week, testing yourself against the welsh weather, and learning some valuable mountain skills along the way then this is the course for you!
Join Angela Morgan (National Navigation Award Scheme Course Director & Tutor) from Find Your Bearings for a 2-day Beginner's Navigation Course and learn an essential outdoor skill – the ability to read a map! By the end of the course, you will be confident in your map reading skills, and be able to put them to use in the countryside using marked paths and tracks.
During your time with us at Boiler Slab, we’ll teach you all the basic skills of rock climbing on what we call a bottom rope system, similar to that you may see in an indoor climbing wall. We’ll teach you how to tie into the rope correctly, belay your partner safely as well as climb with good technique and lower from the top of a route
