Women's Women's Beginner's Navigation Course // 21st July - £135 + booking fees

Join Angela Morgan (National Navigation Award Scheme Course Director & Tutor) from Find Your Bearings for a 2-day Beginner's Navigation Course and learn an essential outdoor skill – the ability to read a map! 

By the end of the course, you will be confident in your map reading skills, and be able to put them to use in the countryside using marked paths and tracks.

This Beginner's Navigation Course will teach you:

  • Grid references - what are they and how to use them
  • Map markings and symbols
  • Using map scales; judging distances on & off the map
  • Simple relocation techniques 
  • How to plan and follow a simple route
  • How to interpret the land around you 
  • What the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 is and how it applies to you

This course does NOT include:

  • THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ACCOMODATION.
    WE WILL MEET AGAIN AT THE HALL ON THE SECOND DAY AT 9AM
  • Water and lunch 
  • Personal clothing and equipment
  • Personal insurance
  • Travel to and from the location 

Equipment List:

  • A compass!
  • Hiking shoes/boots - must have good tread
  • Warm hiking clothing 
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers

Cancellation Policy

In the event of bad weather, we will aim to re-organise the event, if you're unable to make the new date it we will offer you a full refund. 
No refund on tickets on cancelations 7 days out from the event.
