Join us and Shelley Wright from Geelong Adventure Specialists for a half-day Wilderness Navigation course in the You Yangs!
SCHEDULE, MEETING POINT + FACILITIES
At 9am, we meet at the Park Office just 200 metres inside the gate off Branch Rd.
We can also pick you up from Lara train station at 8.45am or around Geelong/Lara so please let us know when signing up if you’d like us to! Pick up is free of charge.
We will finish at 2.30pm and you will be dropped back at Lara train station or your original pick up point. Drop offs will be around 3pm.
There are toilet facilities within You Yangs Regional Park. There are no food or water facilities.
THIS COURSE WILL COVER:
Orienting a map
Using features to guide you
Walking on a bearing
An orienteering course
The practical component above consists of walking around the park & practicing navigation skills using a pre-set orienteering course. You can expect to cover approximately 5 kilometres over the course of the day at a leisurely pace.

This is for any woman who wants to grasp wilderness navigation once and for all.

In the event of bad weather, we will aim to re-organise the event, if you're unable to make the new date it we will offer you a full refund.
